The Japanese concept of Ba is the context shared by those interacting with each other. We are corporeal beings, in a physical environment, and are related to each other as well as to our history and culture. We usually communicate
with other people through words, but we often communicate what we feel as well (through body language, tone etc.). If we are conscious of the Ba we can create nice places to be together. In this gathering Emiko Tsuyuki (professor of sociology), Chikako Watanabe (artist) and Renate Schepen (philosopher) come together to share their work and invite you to learn about and experience the concept of Ba.
